Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS)

The Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured. The HERS is the nationally recognised system for inspecting and calculating a home’s energy performance that gives builders, homeowners, sellers, and buyers a precise evaluation of energy losing deficiencies in homes. In the United States, the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is responsible for creation and maintenance of the Rating Standards, as well as certification and quality assurance on RESNET Provider organisations.
