Hype Cycle

A Hype Cycle is a graphical presentation of a common pattern for the new technology or other innovation in business that was developed and presented by the American researcher Gartner (Gartner’s Hype Cycle) in 1995. Each Hype Cycle identifies five key phases of a technology’s life cycle: Innovation Trigger; Peak of Inflated Expectations; Trough of Disillusionment; Slope of Enlightenment; Plateau of Productivity.
