Interaction to Next Paint (INP)

Interaction to Next Paint (INP) is a web performance metric that assesses a page's overall responsiveness to user interactions by observing the latency of all click, tap, and keyboard interactions, and occurs throughout the lifespan of a user's visit to a page. The final INP value is the longest interaction observed, ignoring outliers. An INP is a new metric that Google uses to measure how quickly the website reacts to user interactions that will become one of the Core Web Vitals metrics, and impact Google rankings in March 2024.
