Photovoltaic (PV) Effect

Photovoltaic (PV) Effect is a process that generates voltage or electric current in a photovoltaic cell when it is exposed to sunlight. The Photovoltaic (PV) Effect is the phenomenon that occurs when photons, the particles in a beam of light, knock electrons loose from the atoms they strike. The photovoltaic effect was first discovered in 1839 by Edmond Becquerel. (Refer to the Solar Cell, Solar Panel, Solar Battery, or Photovoltaic (PV) Cell)
