PIMS (Process Information Management System)

Process Information Management System (PIMS) is a software or technology-based solution that collects and integrates information about a production process from a wide variety of control, plant and business systems. A PIMS facilitates the collection, acquisition, organisation, storage, and retrieval of process related information within an organisation that provides a centralised platform for managing and analysing data, documents, and knowledge associated with various processes. A PIMS can be effectively leveraged in organisation and supply chain management applications. (Also known as a Plant or Product Information Management System)
