Placebo Effect

The Placebo Effect is a phenomenon where a person reports real improvement after taking a fake or non-existent treatment, called a placebo (a substance or treatment which is designed to have no therapeutic value (e.g., inert tablets (like sugar pills), inert injections (like saline), sham surgery, etc.)). The Placebo Effect is more than positive thinking, believing a treatment or procedure will work that is about creating a stronger connection between the brain and body and how they work together.
