A Profit Margin is a measure of profitability that is the difference between the total amount of money a company receives from sales and the total cost of producing all its products and services. The Profit Margin is the percentage of sales turning into profits, or expressed as the profit percentage of the revenue: a gross profit margin, operating profit margin, and net profit margin.
