Radiation Area

A Radiation Area is an area, accessible to personnel, in which there exits ionizing radiation at such levels that a major portion of the body could receive in any one hour a dose in excess of 0.005 rem (0.05 mSv) in 1 hour at 30 centimetres from the radiation source or from any surface that the radiation penetrates, or in any five consecutive days a dose in excess of 0.1 rem.
