Radiation Dose is the amount of energy from radiation that is actually absorbed by the body that can be measured in gray (Gy) units, which are equivalent to one joule per kilogram; however, a practical measurement of doses as an effective dose is a calculated value, measured in the sievert (mSv), that takes three factors into account: the absorbed dose to all organs of the body, the relative harm level of the radiation, and the sensitivities of each organ to radiation.
