Rod Pump

A Rod Pump is an artificial lift pumping system that uses in the oil industry to join the surface and downhole components of a reciprocating piston pump installed in an oil well. A Sucker Rod Pump provides mechanical energy to lift oil from bottom-hole to surface using a surface power source to drive a downhole pump assembly. A beam and crank assembly create reciprocating motion in a sucker-rod string that connects to the downhole pump assembly that is efficient, simple, and easy for operation, and can be used to pump a well at very low bottom-hole pressure to maximise oil production rates.
