Valve Failure Position

Valve Failure Position is a safety precaution in the event of instrument air or electrical power failure that protects the process in emergency situations, or leave the system in a safe operating state. There are a few different fail scenarios; each having its own consequences and safety effects: Valve Fail Closed (FC), Fail Open (FO), or Fail in the last position (FL).
