Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Adjustable Frequency Drive (AFD), or Variable Voltage and Variable Frequency (VVVF)

A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Adjustable Frequency Drive (AFD), or Variable Voltage and Variable Frequency (VVVF) is a type of motor controllers that is adjustable-speed drive the electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor. A VFD refers to AC drives only, the speed of an AC motor by varying the frequency to the motor. A Variable Speed Drive (VSD) refers to either AC Drives or DC Drives. (Refer to the Variable Speed Drive (VSD); Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD))
