CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade)

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) is a commodity futures and options exchange that was established on April 3, 1848, is one of the world’s oldest futures and options exchanges. On October 18, 2005, the CBOT became a for-profit business with shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Reference Definition by Investopedia.com: A commodity exchange established in 1848 that today trades in both agricultural and financial contracts. The CBOT originally traded only agricultural commodities such as wheat, corn and soybeans. Now, the CBOT offers options and futures contracts on a wide range of products including gold, silver, U.S. Treasury bonds and energy.
