Environmental Protection

Environmental Protection is the practice of protecting the natural environment to conserve natural resources and the existing natural environment and the prevention of unwanted change to ecosystems by individuals, organisations and governments. The Environmental Protection includes the protection of ecosystems and their constituent parts from changes associated with human activities, and the prevention of unwanted natural changes to ecosystems and their constituent parts.

Reference Definition by OECD: Environmental Protection refers to any activity to maintain or restore the quality of environmental media through preventing the emission of pollutants or reducing the presence of polluting substances in environmental media. It may consist of: changes in characteristics of goods and services; changes in consumption patterns; changes in production techniques; treatment or disposal of residuals in separate environmental protection facilities; recycling, and prevention of degradation of the landscape and ecosystems.
